CAPS News - September 2018

This has been a good month for CAPS: Arizona State University - our partner institution - ranked high in a few things that make a difference to our members (in the news section); we released a new report on Procurement Analytics (in the Knowledge Central section); and, our upcoming Supply Management Roundtable is quickly filling. If you're part of a leadership team at one of our member companies, please consider attending. Our events are fast-paced and value-driven (with some great networking, at a beautiful venue).

And if you're not at a member company, we still have a ton of opportunities for you. There are plenty of research and benchmarking reports you can access in our library or you may participate in surveys and get the resulting aggregated metrics as our thanks. This newsletter is the best way to stay in the loop.

If at any point you have questions about any of our programs, hit reply to this email or follow the links within - we'd be happy to hear from you.

Benchmarking

Quick fact: Procurement Training

A recent CAPS survey confirms that the vast majority (80%) of participating companies conduct supplier safety reviews. Of those companies, 45% have a designated Safety Organization (E&H), 20% indicated that procurement is responsible.

We often share these stories on our Twitter and LinkedIn feeds, so be sure to follow us with the social links at the bottom of this email. Here's a story from the last month of CAPS in the media:

  • U.S. News & World Report released its education rankings and ASU is ranked No. 1 in innovation for the fourth year in a row, and the supply chain department at Arizona State University W. P. Carey School of Business was ranked No. 2 for supply chain management nationwide, ahead of MIT, Penn State, and Ohio State. Our organization was founded as a partnership between W. P. Carey at ASU and Institute for Supply Management. Our research program is headed by Prof. Thomas Choi and leverages the expertise of top researchers worldwide, many of whom come from ASU.
