Quick Fact: The Tier-2 Visibility Challenge
Most companies have a clear view of Tier-1 suppliers, but visibility drops off fast beyond them. While 62% receive regular updates from Tier-1, only 15% do from Tier-2, and just 2% have real-time visibility.
Meanwhile, 42% do not manage Tier-2 directly, relying on Tier-1 to oversee the extended network, and only 6% maintain comprehensive oversight beyond direct suppliers.
The takeaway: strong Tier-1 governance isn’t enough. To spot risks sooner, build resilience, and improve performance across the network, organizations must extend oversight, data sharing, and collaboration deeper into the supply chain.
