FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Global Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Program Support
How organizations have aligned their supplier quality assurance professionals globally.
(TEMPE, Arizona) December 08, 2011 — CAPS Research releases a SnapShots benchmarking
report on Global Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Program Support. A short 9-question
survey was distributed asking organizations for the number of their full-time and
contract employees assigned to Supplier Quality programs and initiatives globally;
the number of supplier manufacturing sites from which they receive goods/products;
and their total spend for manufactured goods/products.
Results of this brief survey indicate that 23 percent of the participating companies'
supply management employees are assigned to support SQA programs that focus on Advanced
Quality (advanced product quality planning initiatives), Supplier Quality (product
quality goals and continual improvement), and Supplier Development (creating and
maintaining a network of competent suppliers). Based on data provided by the survey
participants, one-half of the SQA employees support ongoing Supplier Quality programs.
Organizationally, the employees who support Supplier Development initiatives are
more likely to be assigned to the organization's supply management group than are
those SQA employees who support either Advanced Quality or Supplier Quality initiatives.
The complimentary Snapshots benchmark report "Global Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Program Support"
