CAPS Research Celebrates 25th Anniversary
(TEMPE, Arizona) January 31, 2011 — This year marks the 25th anniversary of
CAPS Research. Founded by Harold E. Fearon, Ph.D., and other purchasing research
visionaries, CAPS Research was created as a joint venture between the Institute
for Supply Management™ (ISM) and Arizona State University. Originally called the
Center for Advanced Purchasing Studies, CAPS Research has continued to evolve, as
has the steadily increasing importance and influence of the supply management function.
What sets CAPS Research apart from others engaged in supply management research
are the organization's careful and credible research methods, research reputation,
and mission to deliver research without bias. The majority of CAPS Research publications,
documents, and findings are available on its
website.
More than 300 large, multi-national firms from every populated continent have been
corporate sponsors. These companies, representing all industry sectors, have given
their support, knowing that they are directly contributing to the body of supply
management knowledge that will help drive improvements in their firms.
CAPS Research collaborates with its industry partners as well as other academic
and research institutions to design research, generate new knowledge, and disseminate
integral supply management knowledge and best practices.
