IBM Vice President Elected to CAPS Research Board of Trustees
(TEMPE, Arizona) August 19, 2009 — The CAPS Research Board of Trustees recently
elected a leading supply management professional from the Computer Services Industry,
Dan Rooker, to serve as a Trustee. Rooker is Vice President, Services Sourcing for
IBM, and his responsibilities include supplier selection, sourcing strategy, contracting,
cost reduction, and risk management for services, IT hardware and software procurement,
comprising over $20 billion in IBM spend.
IBM is the world's top provider of computer products and services and has over 398,000
employees worldwide and operates in more than 170 countries. IBM has divested commoditizing
business like personal computers and hard disk drives, and strengthened its position
through strategic investment and acquisitions in higher-value segments like business

Director of Services Procurement; Director of Asia Pacific Production Procurement;
and Director of OEM Procurement.
