AT&T Operations, Inc. President Elected to CAPS Research Board of Trustees

(TEMPE, Arizona) August 6, 2009 — The CAPS Research Board of Trustees recently elected Tim Harden, President Supply Chain & Fleet Operations for AT&T Operations, to serve as a Trustee. A leading supply management professional, Harden is responsible for all AT&T global supply chain functions for wired and wireless operations, including strategic sourcing, purchasing, supplier quality and supplier diversity programs, supply chain logistics and distribution, and fleet management.

AT&T operating companies purchases more than $50 billion worth of goods and services annually. The AT&T Supply Chain organization is responsible for negotiating and contracting for goods and services both in the United States and internationally. In addition, AT&T Supply Chain's responsibilities include delivering goods and services in ways that provide quality and value for AT&T businesses and their customers.

CAPS Research is a globally recognized supply management research organization affiliated with the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, and the Institute for Supply Management™ (ISM). The Board of Trustees is responsible for setting overall operating policies and procedures, and establishing key research programs.

Harden's responsibilities cover all aspects of AT&T's operations, including wireless, IP-based communications, high speed Internet access, local and long distance voice, directory publishing, marketing and advertising services. Prior to this assignment, Harden was President and CEO of AT&T West, President of Network Services for AT&T Southwest, and President of Enterprise Business Services & Data and Network Services for SBC Operations.
