Honeywell Vice President Elected to CAPS Research Board of Trustees
(TEMPE, Arizona) November 13, 2008 – The CAPS Research Board of Trustees recently
elected a leading supply management professional from the Industrial Manufacturing
Industry, Michael Slomke, to serve as a Trustee. Slomke is Vice President, Global
Sourcing for Honeywell Automation & Controls Solutions (ACS). Honeywell's largest
business group, ACS is a global leader in providing product and service solutions
that improve efficiency and profitability, support regulatory compliance, and maintain
safe and comfortable environments in homes, buildings and industry.
CAPS Research is a globally recognized supply management research organization affiliated
with the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, and the Institute
for Supply Management™ (ISM). The Board of Trustees is responsible for setting overall
operating policies and procedures, and establishing key research programs.
Slomke is responsible for the global inbound supply chain including sourcing, procurement,
and supplier quality for this $12.5 billion business group spanning 120 manufacturing
plants in 24 countries. His organization has successfully integrated over 40 acquisitions
since 2004. With experience in high-volume, high-mix and service businesses, Slomke's
focus has been on leading organization transformations and deploying advanced strategic
sourcing processes.
Prior to joining Honeywell, Michael served as Senior Vice President, Supply Chain
at RR Donnelley from 2001 through 2004. He also held key leadership positions in
the Supply Management organizations of Motorola's semiconductor and computer businesses
from 1995 to 2001 and Honeywell's industrial, defense and avionics groups from 1985
to 1995.
