Chevron Chief Procurement Officer Elected to CAPS Research Board of Trustees
(TEMPE, Arizona) October 30, 2008 – The CAPS Research Board of Trustees has elected
Leo Lonergan, Chief Procurement Officer for Chevron Corporation, to serve as a Trustee.
Lonergan directs global procurement activities including category and contract management,
and procurement operations at Chevron, one of the world's leading energy companies.
With his broad-based international experience, strong leadership and commercial
skills, Lonergan delivers high-value procurement services throughout the company.
Lonergan directs supply-chain management activities for all Chevron goods and services
worldwide, which involves annual spending of approximately $40 billion. Additionally,
he is responsible for supporting Chevron's operating companies in delivering sustainable
cost management for capital and operating expenses, while strengthening safety,
reliability and total cost of ownership.
Lonergan has held positions of increasing responsibility in supply, logistics and
trading in several international locations during his career. He led Chevron's relationships
with key refining and marketing affiliates, including the acquisition of an additional
interest in Singapore Refining Co. and held the title of VP, Joint Ventures and
New Business Development, Global Downstream Operations at Chevron until 2005. Lonergan's
appointment as Chief Procurement Officer at Chevron was effective Feb. 16, 2005.
