The Market Basket for MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operating) Goods looks at recent
prices paid for 50 different market basket items. Each of the market basket items
was identified by nomenclature or part number. The report provides the average and
median price for each 'actual' item in the market basket, as well as the average
and median price for each 'equivalent' item purchased. This report is unique in
that it shows the percent of market basket items purchased that are actual items
or are functionally equivalent items.

Industry benchmarking is a continuous process that gives every company in a unique
industry sector an opportunity to compare their supply management business practices
to those of others within the same industry sector. In its eighth report of the
industry since 1990, CAPS Research surveyed leading Aerospace & Defense organizations,
with combined total sales of $72 billion and average sales of $4.8 billion.
