(Tempe, Ariz.) – CAPS Research, a global organization that conducts leading-edge
research on purchasing, sourcing, and supply chain management, has named Alan L.
Boeckmann, chairman and chief executive officer of Fluor Corporation, recipient
of its inaugural Chief Executive of the Year Award. Fluor Corporation is one of
the world's largest, publicly owned engineering, procurement, construction, and
maintenance services organizations.
Boeckmann received the award following his keynote address at the 15th Annual CAPS
Research Executive Roundtable held March 14-16 in Scottsdale, Ariz. The yearly face-to-face
forum allows senior purchasing and supply executives from the CAPS Research major
corporate sponsors the opportunity to share best practices, network, informally
benchmark procurement programs, and prioritize research agenda.
Boeckmann serves as chairman of the Engineering and Construction Governors of The
World Economic Forum, and as a director of the American Petroleum Institute, Burlington

and Speech Foundation, the National Petroleum Council and the Orange County Performing
Arts Center. He is a member of the Business Roundtable, the World Economic Forum
